So since I started this blog 3 episodes after the season started, I'll just do a quick overview of what has happened up until last Tuesday's episode.
The first episode of season five took place 4 years after they had graduated from Tree Hill. Brook was in New York who had started her own clothing line, Peyton was in LA working as an “assistant to the assistant” at a snazzy record label, and the rest of the gang was back in Tree Hill. It was also no surprise that Luke and “Skills” were the new coaches of the Tree Hill basketball team, “mouth” was working on his audition tapes for a new sports broadcaster position, and Haley was a new teacher at Tree Hill. Unfortunately not all of them ended up with their dream job. The first episode began with Nathan in a wheel chair looking like he hadn’t taken a shower or shaven in days. I think we all felt for Nathan when we found out he didn’t get his dream of playing in the NBA, but what would the show be without the drama of crushing the only person’s dream that was the most clear to us? Near the end of the first episode and the beginning of the second, Brook and Peyton had taken a flight back to Tree Hill after they realized how depressing their lives were. Brook decides to run her business from Tree Hill, and Peyton is convinced to start her own record label. Lindsay (Lucas’ new girlfriend) worries that Peyton will threaten their relationship. It is very clear that Peyton and Lukas have some unfinished business, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the writers have in store for them. Meanwhile, there’s a bit of trouble in paradise at the Scott’s. After Haley told Nathan he might lose them if he didn’t step up and start acting like a father, Nathan realized how much he had to loose and began practicing getting up on his feet again. In the next episode things changed around for Nathan Scott...hopefully it'll stay that way.
