In this Tuesdays episode, it included a series of flashbacks, as lukas remembered the time after graduation. It explained a lot that we didn't know, since the series skipped 4 years between highschool and now. It turned out that lukas actually proposed to Peyton in LA, and after her rejection was when Lukas started dating his new girlfriend, lindsey. Linsdey, who is also Lukas' editor, called lukas just as he was leaving LA, changing his flightplans to NY to meet her about publishing his new book. In New York, Luke ended up meeting up with Brook, as she was there with victoria (her mom) working on trying to get her clothing line off the ground. There were also flashbacks to lukas' and Nathan's final basketball season, as well as Nathan's and Haley's life before his dream was shattered. At the end of the episode it flashs back to regular time, and lukas goes for a walk to Brooks knew house hoping to run into Peyton. After finding out she wasn't there, and after a short chat with brook, brook asks lukas if he still loves Peyton. Luke never ended up saying yes or no, which means things might start to get interesting in the Peyton, Luke and Lindsey triangle. A possible breakup? I wouldn't doubt it, we all know Luke and Peyton are pretty much meant to be.

Episode 4

So Nathan has FINALLY cut his hair. It really looks as if he's made a full 180 degree turn and managed to finally pull it all together. But of course this would never had happened without his lovely wife Haley who talked some darn sense into him. In last Tuesdays episode, Haley also talked Nathan into trying to have a little chat with a troubled young basketball star (just like the one and only Nathan scott back in the day) from one of Mrs. Scott's classes. Clinton, who appears to have a bright future in basketball has been causing quite a bit of trouble on and off of the court. Not being seen as a "team player" he got booted off the team, but hopefully with a couple of Nathan's wise words and being that Nathan was in a similar situation, he'll be able to get through to that hard head of his. Meanwhile, there's been some jealousy brewing. Lindsey and Peyton...Peyton and Lindsey, and surprisingly Haley and the new "hot" nanny, whom she realized is starting to get closer with her own son then she is. I'm not really sure what the deal with Lindsey is, although they make it seem like she's totally cool with the fact that Peyton's back in town, she probably secretly has her on her radar 24/7...carefully watching every step she makes closer to lucas. I would say Lindsey has some tough competition, considering how close Peyton and lucas were when they drifted apart. But while we're on the subject of Peyton, her new record label is off the ground. In this episode she signed her first band, which in the end all but one band member left. Mrs. Scott (also Peyton's new bussiness partner) assured Peyton all the other members were getting in the way of her sound anywase, and that she was the real magic of the band. Being that (and we JUST found this out) Haley has apparently gone on tour with her piano, had a major record deal and a top single sometime in the past 4 years, Haley assures her that she knows what she's doing. And last but not least, there's Brook. The opening of her clothing line in Tree Hill seemed to be an absolute failure. In last Tuesday's episode we were finally introduced to Brook's mom, who was sort of the back bone to the company. It was no surprise to Mrs. Davis that she didn't sell one expensive item on her opening day. But with Brook's determination to remain in Tree Hill with her friends rather then going back to New York and running her bussiness with her witch of a mother, still seems to be going pretty strong.
Suggested songs from episode 4:
The Bravery - Time Won't Let Me Go
Kate Voegele - Kindly Unspoken
*Matt Nathanson - All We Are
Ben Lee - Ripe
If you liked the soundtracks from The OC, I assure you that you will enjoy the music from One Tree Hill as well. And if you've never listened to either...then just check it out, you might be able to add a few new favorite songs to your list.

Season 5, Episodes 1-3

So since I started this blog 3 episodes after the season started, I'll just do a quick overview of what has happened up until last Tuesday's episode.
The first episode of season five took place 4 years after they had graduated from Tree Hill. Brook was in New York who had started her own clothing line, Peyton was in LA working as an “assistant to the assistant” at a snazzy record label, and the rest of the gang was back in Tree Hill. It was also no surprise that Luke and “Skills” were the new coaches of the Tree Hill basketball team, “mouth” was working on his audition tapes for a new sports broadcaster position, and Haley was a new teacher at Tree Hill. Unfortunately not all of them ended up with their dream job. The first episode began with Nathan in a wheel chair looking like he hadn’t taken a shower or shaven in days. I think we all felt for Nathan when we found out he didn’t get his dream of playing in the NBA, but what would the show be without the drama of crushing the only person’s dream that was the most clear to us? Near the end of the first episode and the beginning of the second, Brook and Peyton had taken a flight back to Tree Hill after they realized how depressing their lives were. Brook decides to run her business from Tree Hill, and Peyton is convinced to start her own record label. Lindsay (Lucas’ new girlfriend) worries that Peyton will threaten their relationship. It is very clear that Peyton and Lukas have some unfinished business, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the writers have in store for them. Meanwhile, there’s a bit of trouble in paradise at the Scott’s. After Haley told Nathan he might lose them if he didn’t step up and start acting like a father, Nathan realized how much he had to loose and began practicing getting up on his feet again. In the next episode things changed around for Nathan Scott...hopefully it'll stay that way.
